The gory memories of 26/11 may have finally reached a dormancy in the
minds of the affected, but the tragedy has certainly not been forgotten.
And with B-Town
movies bringing forth cinema reminiscing the bitter moments, putting the
past behind hardly becomes any simpler.
Madhur Bhandarkar's
much-awaited Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji is seizing attention for the
same reason. A
scene from the film, making a clear reference to Kasab, is raising eyes
enough! However the genius film-maker sternly denies any intentional
reference to the
Indo-Pak issue or the 26/11 catastrophe. He insists on the film being a
light romantic comedy and trusts that the smart audience shall receive
this scene without unprejudiced nonchalance.
The said scene causing controversial waves, is, according to the film
maker, set out as a funny one, wherein a dog is being
ridiculed by calling it 'Kasab'! No doubt it attempts to throw a direct
taunt by naming a dog after the infamous terrorist. In its own way it
makes a statement of what attitude should be met out to such anti-social
elements. The makers insist
on it being all in good jest despite the much ado caused.
We hope and pray Dil Toh.. successfully bails out of controversies, and succeeds at the box office eventually.
