Is Kats loss is Deepika's Gain?

Just recently Deepika Padukone signed Prakash Jha's Aarakshan which has an excellent star cast to boast of, starring Ajay Devgan, Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpayee.

 

But that's not all.  While Deepika has managed to bag the role in the end, it has spilled out that she wasn't the first choice for the movie. In fact, while working with Katrina in Rajneeti, Prakash Jha decided that he wanted to work with her again. But with Dostana 2 on Kat's list, she couldn't commit to this project at the moment.

 

Prakash Jha waited for her though, thinking she'd eventually sign the project with him after the "role of a lifetime" she had in Rajneeti. But when she never followed up, he eventually decided to go and discuss the project with Deepika.

 

Pairing Ajay and Deepika together, Prakash believed they would make an interesting team. Once she heard of the offer, Deepika didn't waste time in pondering over her decision and gave an immediate yes.

 

But hold on for a second, for there is more drama to unfold. Prakash Jha denied all rumors of having approached either Deepika or Katrina. In fact, he even says that the script will have to be finalized to see who he can approach for the role of his film.

 

So has Deepika been finalized, or not? Will it turn out that indeed Katrina's loss will be Deepika's gain?
