Shahid's Character Change!

Shahid Kapoor is known on sets for being reserved and aloof. So imagine the surprise of the cast and crew of Mausam's when he came for shooting on the first day not only beardless, but also totally extroverted!

A source from the movie states that the decision to shave off his beard was crucial for Shahid's character, as they believe that the younger demographic that they are reaching out to prefer to see their leading men clean-shaven, which explains Shahid's whiskerless look.

As for his sudden change in character, Father and Mausam director Pankaj told him to shed his inhibitions, as Shahid's character is that of a pilot who lives every day to the fullest. To get into character, Shahid has hence been acting rather playful and energetic, as compared to his natural, reserved demeanor.

The crew of the movie are pleasantly surprised with his change. In fact, sources state that leading lady Sonam Kapoor was even heard complimenting Shahid on his clean-shaven look!
