Our Bollywood actors are constantly trying to break into the Hollywood industry, with each trying to carve a niche for themselves in the western market. But this trend is also starting to see somewhat of a reversal! Very soon, Russell Crowe will be making his Bollywood debut with a film that will be released in both English and Hindi.
The film, which will be called Amrit Kumbh in
Hindi and In Search of Immortality in English, will be directed
by Sudipto Sen, and Russell's love interest will be played by Paoli Dam.
Russell's character will be that of a middle-aged German writer who
makes a voyage to India to achieve "moksha". Although the movie
will be filmed in both Hindi and English, Russell will unfortunately not
be speaking in Hindi.
The movie also boasts some other big names, including
some Academy Award winners; along with A.R. Rahman leading the music,
Resul Pookutty working with the sound design, Bhanu Athaiya designing
costumes and Chris Dickens, who edited Slumdog Millionaire,
lending his editing skills to this movie.
BollyCurry sure is waiting eagerly for its release,
especially when such a huge star cast along with the masters are ready
to rock in this indo-western fusion!
