Gowns, bright hues and dazzling
beauty ruled the pinkish purple carpet at the Grazia Young Fashion
Awards 2015 in Mumbai on the 15th of April. The annual event that
promotes the best young labels in the country saw a fantastic turnout,
which saw some of Bollywood's most celebrated and stylish icons came all
decked up to grace the occasion. And where there's style, there's
BollyCurry's famous Fashion Police!
Radhika Apte donned an Urvashi Joneja jumpsuit with a black and white print cover up. The outfit is most certainly
not what we usually see, but we love the way she carried it. Such
confidence, such style - she owns the outfit. The faux-bob hair is messy
and slightly limp against the clean cut image but the contrast
complimented the dress well and gave it the needed balance. With a gold
clutch to stand out, she looked refreshingly different.
Bold and stylish! Rating: 5/5
Huma Qureshi looked lovely in a maroon Nikhil Thampislit
gown. The dress in itself isn't magnificent or original but Qureshi did
it splendid justice. We would do away with the heavy design on the
shoulders though. The make-up was absolutely spot-on, her nail colour
matched the dress well and her hair was done to the T in a neat updo.
The strap heels also looked quite wonderful.
Gorgeous! Rating: 3.5/5
In a white knee-length Rimzim Dadudress,
Fakhri turned up to the event looking simple and stunning. Her hair
tied up in a high ponytail and make-up kept to a modest minimum worked
great wonders. We love the shoes but not with that outfit. Something
more simple and tassel-less would have been much preferred. We also wish
she had donned a bracelet or two, her hands look quite empty whereas
her ring stands out a bit too much. Simple and beautiful! Rating: 3/5
Jacqueline Fernandez attended the event in a blue and black Armani outfit.
She completed the look with a ponytail and a diamond necklace.
Unfortunately though, the whole look seemed at an odd. Neck down, we
slightly understand - the classic gown with a bit of Angelina Jolie
and risque going on. Neck up - what is going on with that make-up? The
pink lips and matching blusher are a complete no against the dark hues
of the outfit.
We can only say that we have seen better from her! Rating: 2.5/5
She came and she conquered, so to
speak. That is, she walked away with the "Cover Girl of The Year" award
and simply put, looked gorgeous. Decked in a black Ashi Couture gown and
Dior shoes, Chopra looked every bit beautiful. The make-up wasn't
exceptional; we're not quite on board with the purple lips but it works
with the outfit and that's what counts. Let's just say the dress won the
night and Chopra carried it to perfection. Neat and elegant! Rating: 5/5
Arjun Kapoor is a great actor. In this
blue Antar Agni fusion outfit though, he looked simply odd. We couldn't
quite figure out what it was supposed to be but the Indo-Western fusion
hardly yielded a spectacular result. The colour looked totally off on
him and the outfit did not appear to fit him at all. If anything, it
reminded us of the previous sentencing that we held for him in March. We
appreciate creativity, but it didn't work at all in this case.
We said it before and we say it again, get a new stylist! Rating: 1/5
Shraddha Kapoor picked a glittery gold
and blue Sabyasachi mini dress. She looked fresh and dazzling and
finished her look with sleek hair, dramatic smokey blue eye, and a sling
bag. There was no odd note here and we like that she kept it simple
with just a gold ring; the outfit demands all the attention and rightly
so. She looked beautiful as always.
Quite charming! Rating: 5/5
For our Bollywood stars, it was a
pretty bright night. Some styles worked, some worked a little less. The
glamour of the night, though, was unmistakable. Let us know who looked
the best to you in the comments section below.
