The creative nature of New Year's leaves me speechless. While I, your very own "fashion-bleeds-my-name" Ms. Bolly Chili -
yes yes, thank you very much - hide
my inner chill under a custom made Atelier gossamer blanket and think
couture, I take pains just for thee, dearies, for I can't let you all
dwell in the miseries of fashion delusion. What I bring to you today is
nothing short of a miracle - two New Years in one moment! It's the
courtesy of our enchantresses (please respect my entendre) that you are
being privileged to witness this sight.
The alluring Kate Hudson walked the 2013 Golden Globe Awards'
red carpet in an embellished Alexander McQueen black crepe gown with a
key hole for added drama, winter resistant sleeves and a personal train
to trail behind. Am I complaining? Nope, because Victorian was the feel.
How ethereally stunning she looked. I make a point to say that
initially the open, slightly front-thrown blonde hair seemed to be
hiding the sequence shop busy on the neck, but arise my artistic soul to
defy it and I accept; that piece of styling makes the hair look like an
extension of the exquisite embroidery itself. Hudson also wore some
trinkets which were noticed as Jennifer Meyer jewelry, a gold Roger
Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch and sky high black pumps. All non essential
for who cared when Kate looked so beautiful? I did manage to sweep my
eyes to her waist - the embellished leaf belt being a part of the
original design was kept where it was most envied. The hour glass figure
was put to excellence by that one piece of bondage and my heart bleeds
with lust, erm, love for such perfection to exist. A whole year of air
kisses for Kate for not going behemoth with the make-up. She looked too
good to be true.
Almost a
year later comes the day when I sat up, searched for my asthma pump and
got ready for another performance of insane heavy breathing due to the
news that
Deepika Padukone wearing an Alexander McQueen for the red
carpet of the
20th Annual Life OK Screen Awards. But what took my breath away was that she wore the
same McQueen
gown, a year later! Padukone wore this aesthetic piece of Victorian
'Cleopatra going England' attire with such profound soul of a miser that
I was left flabbergasted. The floor length gown was inches above in the
sky and the sleeves were ordered to be in attention for March past. The
train was left some station behind but thanking God for small mercies,
the key hole remained devoid of seeing a key. However, she left the
crown of this dress, the belt, somewhere far away from the gown.
Padukone took help of the golden Pentagon earrings from the house of
Chic where they stood as Chandi Chowk's nightmare! Do get me started on
her make-up because I have a lot to be indelicate about. It made her
look sleep deprived and costume-ish. She would have gotten some points
for the hairdo, but a flash of side profile and it seemed to bumpet high
and left open from behind. Meenamma and
Chennai Express anyone?
If it was overlooking the maroon lips, that I can be diligent about but
two different shades of red, on lips and on nails, will never get me
say; there's always a next time.
If
it's not obvious by now, I declare that Kate Hudson has withheld her
stature of being the crafted perfection of that McQueen, whereas Deepika
Padukone needs a trip to Santiago for divine intervention. Do let me
know what you thought about seeing double and how prolific it was. Until
next time, hither, be fashionable!
