It's a well known and established fact that Bollywood has a lot of
influence on a person's daily life. Especially, when it comes to the
matter of clothes. People love wearing outfits inspired by their
favourite actors or movie characters just to give themselves a more
stylish appeal. And since traditional events and celebrations are widely
celebrated in our Bollywood movies, it's only fair that many people
choose to design their celebratory outfits like the ones they saw on the
big screen. Therefore, this Navratri, BollyCurry looks at some of the
outfits worn by our Bollywood stars as they celebrate Navratri in style.
The talk of the town this Navratri! The signature Sanjay Leela Bhansali song "Nagada Sang Dhol" with
all its grandeur is already on the way to the top of the charts and the
leading lady,
Deepika Padukone, surely has everyone's attention as she
matched every beat of this high energy song with her dancing. Dressed in
a red
ghagracholi with contrasting golden border in the
ghagra and golden sparkly lace on the
choli, sleeves comfortably snugged till the elbows, red dupatta tucked easily in the
ghagra and
accessorized with traditional bangles, anklets and nose-ring; all the
spotlight was on her as she danced the night away. One beautiful yet
comfortable choice for all the ladies who like to spend their Navratri
dancing till the music lasts.
The
movie features a Navratri scene shot on
Amrita Puri and Raj Kumar Yadav
as they dance on the all around Navrati favorite song "Pari Hoon Main."
Amrita is seen dressed up in a tradition half sleeved yellow
ghaghra choli with the
dupatta tucked
and tied in sari style while Raj Kumar Yadav is seen donning a green
and red traditional Gujrati kameez and white shalwar. Simple and classic
yet trendy.
Even
after all these years, "Dholi Taro Dhol Baje" is a song that still
remains a Navratri favorite. And why won't it? The majestically shot
song is one of the most unforgettable feat of both Aishwariya Rai
Bachchan and
Salman Khan's career. For who can truly forget the way she
looked so ethereal dressed in a blue
choli, a red
lehenga and red & pink contrasted
dupatta, tucked in the
lehenga and
snugged cozily over her head. While, Salman was dressed in black
shalwar and a red coatie which showed his well chiseled body. Very
traditional and a favorite among all for this festival.
Gracy Singh and
Aamir Khan performed on the hit "Radha Kaise Na Jale"in front of all the villagers with her taking the role of Radha, dressed in a simple and traditional yellow
ghagra choli with a mix of brown in the borders and him being the mischievous Kanha wearing a yellow kurta and white
dhoti,
a white cloth tied around the waist as a belt and a pink one tied
around the head with a peacock feather tucked comfortably there. They
made a picture of being simple and bound to the roots, yet looking the
part of celebrations.
One
very beautiful set of outfits worn by the couple was in the song "O Re
Gori" which saw
Hrithik Roshan dressed in a casual black shirt and
matching black pants, with a red
dupatta placed behind the neck over his shoulder and
Ameesha Patel complimenting him with a black and silver full sleeved
choli and a shimmery black
lehenga. The style of dressing matches the contemporary setting of the Navratri festival.
These
are just few of the many Navratri special outfits to give a basic
outlook of which kind of outfits suit which Navratri settings. We would
love to know what you'll be wearing this Navratri, something original or
something inspired by your favorite stars?Author: Maisooma B.
