One of the most anticipated releases of the year was the Bollywood debut of Southern superstar,
Dhanush.
Raanjhanaa definitely
lived up to the hype created around it and a success party for the
movie, which also stars
Sonam Kapoor and
Abhay Deol in pivotal roles,
was held at Mumbai's JW Marriot. Fashion Police couldn't help but make
an appearance at such an event to do what it does best - scrutinize how
the various celebs were dressed.
Dhanush
The
star of the evening,
Dhanush, chose to keep his get up simple and
casual with blue denims and a white shirt paired with brown footwear. We
would've preferred if he had chosen pants or trousers instead of the
jeans to lend a more formal look, but the crisp white shirt radiates a
charming aura and prevents him from looking out of place among the other
celebs.

Sonam Kapoor
White is definitely Sonam's colour as she stunned us all in the Rohit Bal
anarkali with
just the right amount of make-up and jewellery from mommy Sunita
Kapoor's signature line. We absolutely loved her hairdo which allows us
to admire the dazzling long chandeliers for earrings. There is no doubt
Sonam, and this was your night!

Abhay Deol
The
charming gentleman chose his outfit well for the evening. Black
trousers with a white shirt left unbuttoned at the top and a black
waistcoat to match, Abhay certainly didn't disappoint. We even love his
black shiny shoes! The only flaw we can point out is lack of a watch,
which would've given him a wholesome and complete look but otherwise, we
can hardly complain!

Anil Kapoor
Sonam
Kapoor's Daddy Dearest wore something similar to
Abhay Deol but we can
evidently see how much the choice of colours can effect one's look. Dark
black trousers with a lighter black shirt, grey waistcoat and an almost
invisible tie, we cannot say for sure but something is amiss. Is it the
slim fit jeans or the mismatched shoes? Oh well, everyone has their bad
days.

Kangna Ranaut
This
curly-haired beauty is known for her resplendent dressing sense and
this time is no different. Dressed in a printed body-con dress by
Topshop with black flats and a red sling, she managed to impress us.
However, the lack of jewellery is a glaring faux pas on her part this
time. Her hair does a good job covering her ears but she should have
made an effort to put on at least a watch or a chunky bracelet on her
bare hands. That bag isn't helping her either.

Ayushmann Khurrana
Oh
dear, what happened to this cool dude? Though the beige pants, black
watch and dark blue shoes would've looked smart by themselves, the white
shawl...
thing on top
of his tee doesn't work for us at all and ruins his entire get-up. A
better pick for his top would've also lent a totally different look to
him. Try avoiding such disasters next time, Mr. Donor.

Now
here's a smart dresser. With his casual denims and a black hoodie,
Tusshar managed to look simple and stylish. Some print on the top
would've been even better but we like how he accessorized himself with a
watch and rings on two of his right fingers. Casual, classy and
definitely doing him good.

Aditi Rao Hydari went the Indian way and wore a black
salwaar kameez by Payal Singh. Though it's been a while since anyone has donned the traditional
salwar look, it's a welcome change from all those swaying
anarkalis. With
her hair tied in a fishtail, gold earrings and metallic sandals, Aditi
gave the look of a typical Punjabi girl only she managed to stand out
for all the right reasons. Kudos girl!
