They may not be foes, may even be friends, either way, chances are
bright that they have been striving to work together on a project for a
while now - alas! Bollycurry whips this article bringing forth the
virtual on screen pairs so to say - that is, the ones who never seem to
be getting that opportunity to share screen space. Whether it's down to a
clash of dates, last minute cast changes or dissatisfaction with the
script; there are some stars for whom the cards of fate just don't seem
to read 'together'.
Here's to who and why...
After a brief appearance on his year 2000's action-comedy flick, Mela,
both Aish and Aamir seemed genuinely enthusiastic over the prospect of
working together again. Hopes were placed on the period piece, Mangal Pandey,
but unfortunately things did not work out. For now there are no future
projects planned with these two stars in mind but we continue to hope!
Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan
When Deepika first met Salman, the general feeling seemed to be
that the Salman-SRK cold war would lose its cause to Deepika's charm.
Surprisingly the two seemed to hit it off straight away and have since
expressed an interest to work together on numerous occasions. Though
nothing has been confirmed so far, rumours of being approached by both
Atul Agnihotri and Anees Bazmee have been doing the rounds in tinsel
town lately.
An interesting pairing but one we're unlikely to see on the big
screen anytime soon! For one, there's the infamous rivalry between Bebo
and Bips since their Ajnabee (2001) days. But whilst the two
were rumoured to be paired together in Rumi Jaffery's romantic comedy,
Kareena's quip about John being an expressionless actor (followed by
then boyfriend Shahid's statement that the two would never work
together) dashed any hopes Mr. Jaffery may have harbored. And us? We see only bleak light to this chance happening...
Deepika was at one point approached by Rakesh Roshan who was duly impressed by her performance and stunts in Chandni Chowk To China, and offered her a role in Krrish 2. But Hrithik remained unavailable then, busy with other projects (including the recently released Guzaarish), and the pairing has been put on hold ever since, due to scheduling difficulties.
However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also said to be interested
in bringing the pair to the big screen but as of yet, no script has
been confirmed.
Piggy chops undoubtedly churns out more movies than any actress in a
year and so it stands to reason that at some point she will cross paths
with
Emraan Hashmi? Arguably they come from two different cinematic
worlds but with Priyanka unafraid to step in to the gritty (
Fashion) and Hashmi's interest in building himself up as a romantic hero; we may just see these two together soon!
Pairs we missed? Be sure to tell us!
