'Ore Kadal' song tops Malayalam charts

Kochi, Oct 2 (IANS) 'Ore Kadal' song continues to rule the music charts in the otherwise unchanged list.

The top five Malayalam songs for the fortnight are:

1.'Pranayasandhya' - Film: 'Ore Kadal'. Music: Ousepachan. Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry. Singer: Bombay Jayashri.

The mental agony of the heroine is beautifully brought in this song.

2. 'Kolakuzhal' - Film: 'Naivedhyam'. Music: M. Jayachandran. Lyrics: Lohithadas. Singers: Vijay Yesudas and Swetha.

Good music is mandatory in any film starring newcomers. The songs of this film fulfil that requirement.

3. 'Adimegha' - Film: 'Alibhai'. Music: Alex Paul. Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry. Singer: M.G. Sreekumar.

A song by M.G. Sreekumar is considered a lucky charm in a Mohanlal film.

4. 'Thirike' - Film: 'Arabikatha'. Music: Bijibal. Lyrics: Anil Panachooran. Singer: Yesudas.

The longing for motherland felt by people working in the Middle East is captured in this song.

5. 'Kadukkittu' - Film: 'Hallo'. Music: Alex Paul. Lyrics: Sarath Varma. Singers: M.G. Sreekumar and Sangeetha Prabhu.

There may be some substance in the belief that Sreekumar's voice is lucky for Mohanlal.
