Lucknow, March 1 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government late Saturday decided to ban Bollywood blockbuster 'Jodhaa Akbar' fearing 'breach of peace'.
'We have decided to ban 'Jodhaa Akbar' following intelligence inputs that indicated a possibility of clashes among communities,' Principal Home Secretary J.N. Chamber told IANS.
The Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai starrer, released Feb 15, has run into trouble in neighbouring Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh following protests by a section of the Rajput community alleging that it has distorted history.
Uttar Pradesh has not seen any protests against the film except one last month in Lucknow.
