Ranbir Kapoor has been immensely praised for his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt - Bollywood's most controversial star. Portraying Sanju Baba on the silver screens was sure a task for Ranbir as it included Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Terrorism.
Little did we all know that Kapoor too had once tried Drugs in his life was quick to not get addicted to it. He confessed in an interview to Deccan Chronicle stating, "I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs. When we did that section, I did a lot of research".
Speaking about 'Sanju', he expressed, "This film is a good learning for children and youth that five-minutes of ecstasy can destroy your entire life. It's the worst thing possible. Sanjay was much stronger, a fighter who came out of it and became a star".
The actor further admitted that he is addicted to smoking and is using Nicotine to get rid of it. Ranbir Kapoor expressed, "Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it's worse than drugs. And I have an addiction to sweets as well".

Speaking of his recently released film 'Sanju', this film has been doing exceptionally well at the box office. The film has created history by minting 46.71 Cr on day 3 taking the grand total to a whopping 120.06 Cr at the box office.
Sanju brings to fore the life and times of Bollywood's controversial actor Sanjay Dutt. His bond with his father Sunil Dutt, his many romantic affairs, brushes with the underworld, addictions and his prison time among other things have all found their way in the film.
