Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were all set to walk for Manish Malhotra's fashion show at Mijwan 2018 tonight (April 9, 2018). But, both called-in sick and the event had to get postponed for almost a week.
As per the reports, in a leading daily, Ranbir has been diagnosed with Typhoid. The doctors have asked the actor to bed-rest and to be at home until he recovers. The reports also suggests that he has been asked to tone down his workout sessions and not to do any vigorous exercise.
We hope Ranbir recovers soon!
The statement about the event being temporarily cancelled stated as -
"We regret to inform you that the Mijwan Fashion Show scheduled in Mumbai at the Grand Hyatt on 9th April 2018 has been postponed by a week or so. Both our showstoppers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have taken ill and we are waiting for them to recover. We will inform you as soon as a new date is finalised. Apologies for the inconvenience caused and hope you will bear with us.'
About walking for the show, Ranbir had said, "We, the young people of India, need to turn our attention towards rural India and focus on empowering the girl child. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say "Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it and your time starts now."
