Samir Soni to star as a principal in 'Student Of The Year 2'

Samir Soni has been a part of many Bollywood films like Baghban and I Hate Luv Storys, will be starring in Student of the Year 2, according to a leading daily.

While Student of the Year saw Rishi Kapoor as the college principal, this time Samir will be playing the principal.

Talking about his role in the movie, Samir said to the daily, "SOTY 2 is a fresh story, only the franchise is being carried forward. Rishi is the finest actor we have. He did a fabulous job in the first part and people remember him. I am nervous and excited to step into his shoes, although it's not the same character. I'm looking forward to the challenge."

While Rishi Kapoor's character was gay in SOTY, what will Samir also play the same role? "No, he is not gay, but he has his own quirks. He is not the normal, boring principal. He will make you laugh and smile. It's a film about students, so there will be a fun element," said Samir.

Meanwhile, the film will go on-floors in mid-April and will be shot in Dehradun.

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Student of the Year 2 is slated to release on November 23, 2018.
