Twinkle Khanna is the person who chased, convinced Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins initially for the women of his village. Inspired by his work, filmmaker R. Balki made a film on his heart-warming story titled 'Pad Man'.
Yes, it's 2018 and we have such a groundbreaking story shown on the big screens. Pad Man is a revolution, a movement where women are no more embarrassed by their biology and menstrual hygiene is of utmost importance.
Twinkle who attempted her foray into production with Pad Man was present at a press conference with director R. Balki yesterday in the city.
Talking about the responses that she received after the release of the film, she stated, "After the Pad Man trailer was released, a women came up to me telling me that his teenage son wanted to watch his film. She told him that it's not a superhero film while he reverted saying I know what it is about and I want to watch it".
"Another woman came up to me and told me that I don't know if I will watch Padmaavat or not but I will surely see Pad Man", the actress further added.
Twinkle also expressed that she was excited to be a part of such a revolutionary film.
Pad Man released on 9th February and is maintaining a steady run at the box office. It stars Akshay Kumar in the lead and Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the pivotal role.
