A new pair in town, Kangana Ranaut to pair up with Vicky Kaushal

Currently, Kangana Ranaut is busy shooting for her upcoming film, "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi." While the actress has already wrapped up the Hyderabad and Jodhpur schedules of the film but, she will complete the rest of the shooting by the end of the next month.

Post "Manikarnika" the actress is said to start prepping for her next which touted to be a thriller. The whodunit may be titled Mental. While she will be playing the female lead reports suggest that the film's leading man will be Vicky Kaushal.

An insider revealed to a leading daily, "Kangana plays a dark character. Vicky slips into the part of her nemesis. He instantly fell for his role when he read the script. The makers wanted someone who could give a tough fight to Kangana's character, and Vicky has showcased sufficient range to provide the same."

The film is said to go on floors in August this year after the release of "Manikarnika" in June or July.

"With Vicky too having a 40-day schedule for his next, Uri, in the pipeline, it was apt to defer this film," said the source.

Sources also suggest that Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurana were also approached for the role, but, the makers however finalized Vicky, who is yet to sign on the dotted line.
