Bollywood actor Shrivallabh Vyas who played a key role in
Aamir Khan's hit film "
Lagaan" passed away today.
October 13, 2008 Vyas suffered a brain stroke while he was shooting for a film and since then he was paralyzed. His condition restricted him from moving and speaking. Due to their financial conditions hos family had to shift to Jaisalmer and then to Jaipur.
However, Vyas' family did not receive any support from the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA)
In an earlier interview, his wife Shobha Vyas had revealed that they received no financial support from CINTAA, despite the association setting up a trust for the actors who are suffering from losses.
Even after the industry turning their back on the family, it was
Aamir Khan who gave his rock solid support and bared all of Vyas' medical expenses.
Aamir also visited his family in Jaipur while he was shooting for his film PK.
After giving a tough battle to his paralysis, Shrivalabh left for heavenly abode this morning. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
He had also done a few of theater plays among which his famous play, Virasat (1985) gained him acclaims from all across.
We pray for his departed soul to rest in peace and may God grant courage to his family to bear the loss.
