Photos: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor start filming for Brahmastra

Ayan Mukerji's upcoming film 'Brahmastra' is a fantasy adventure trilogy starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.

It was earlier reported that Ranbir with best friend and filmmaker Ayan will be heading to Israel for work purpose and also to bring in the New Year. Reportedly, the first installment of Brahmastra will be shot in Israel and Jordan. Looks like the news is true as recently the trio was clicked with some fans there.

In the newly posted pictures, Alia and Ranbir can be seen posing with fans at an eatery. Also can be seen in the right is filmmaker Ayan.

Alia also wished Happy New Year to a fan while Ranbir was enjoying his drink in the background.

Interestingly, not only Alia and Ranbir will be seen sharing screen space for the first time, this is also the first time that both the actors will be working with Big B. Alia has always said in her interviews that she is a big admirer of Ranbir.

Talking about the unexplored genre of fantasy adventure in Bollywood, Ayan had earlier expressed, "It's a modern-day film set in India as it exists today. But the reason it's called Brahmastra is because the energies, wisdom, powers in the film come from ancient India. That's all I would say. There are some costumes, may be not the way you'd expect them to be".

Brahmastra is scheduled to release on 15^th August, 2019.
