Priyanka Chopra: "My achaar goes with me even over my shoes"

Priyanka Chopra misses no chance of showing her desi avatar. Once she is seen playing Holi with Jimmy Fallon and then celebrating Diwali with her friends from the west in America.

And again she lost no chance of showing everyone where she hails from. She said in an interview, "Everything I am is because of where I grew up. I'm very desi. My achaar goes with me even over my shoes," she revealed. "(The achaar in question is "mirchi green or red" for condiment connoisseurs to know.)".

"It's not about showing the world what India or Indian culture is. My ambition and struggle is showing that talent from India or wherever else, who excel at their jobs, can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with anyone. It shouldn't be a novelty, it should be the norm", Priyanka further added.

There's no wonder when Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapoor praised Priyanka and express that they are proud of her. She indeed is India's first truly global superstar.

Priyanka had once told to TOI, "It means a lot to me to be appreciated for what I'm trying to achieve. Being a matter of pride for your country and its people is always a huge honour and I feel blessed for that love and support. I'm full of so many emotions. I'm excited to be a part of the movement for change. I'm proud of the progress we have made (which, when you take a step back, is so small in the grand scheme of things' there is a long way to go), and I'm humbled that people feel I have made Indian talent relevant in the US".
