Deepika is a big name in Bollywood and there's no taking back for that. When we talk about Indian cinema, Bollywood as an industry comes first to our minds due to its universal popularity. But, Indian cinema does include of other industries too such as South, Marathi and Punjabi cinema.
Ms Padukone was present at the Filmfare Marathi Awards last night where she praised the Filmfare awards which happen to be the biggest award of our country. Talking about growing prominence of other cinemas, Deepika expressed, "Apart from Hindi cinema, we have Bengali, Marathi, South and the newly introduced Punjabi cinema. I'm thankful to filmfare for this initiative".
"I can see these industries flourishing now. It's important to recognise films from various parts of our country. Our cinema is so diverse. I think awards such as these just encourage people who want to make better films", added Deepika.
She's just a pure soul, isn't she? It's very rare that you come across actors who appreciate the diverse beauty of cinema and our very own Deepika just did that. We've also witnessed Bollywood celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn producing Marathi films. So the connection between Bollywood and other industries is growing!
