Rohit Shetty's directorial Diwale starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon had a lot of expectations but failed to impress the audience at the box office. The eventually film became a flop.
After 9 months of the film's release Rohit took the blame of the film's failure on his shoulders saying, "We went wrong in the conviction. The original story of Dilwale' revolved around three brothers and Kajol's role was limited to just four-five scenes from the flashback. Basically my idea was to show SRK-Kajol's romance was "gone in 60 seconds type of past". However, I decided to change it later and bring the romance factor because Kajol and SRK were in the frame. That was my mistake and my team and I learnt a lesson from the same".
Recently while giving an interview for his upcoming film Golmaal 3, when we asked Rohit about what will he do with the original script of Diwale, the director excitedly stated, "I'll make a film with the original script of Dilwale in 15 years, if I do it now I'll end up being a matter of joke on social media. The original script is hilarious as it's a typical Rohit Shetty film".
He also spilled beans on SRK and Kajol's characters from the original script, "SRK and Kajol were supposed to be race drivers and transporters in the film and they shared a past. That's it They had only two scenes".
We hope Rohit decides to make this film soon.
