Deepika Padukone's maternal grandfather PASSES AWAY!

Deepika Padukone's maternal grandfather Jayant Karkal has left for the heavenly abode on 30^th January. Reportedly, the actress who was really close to her Nanaji is mourning over her loss. During a recent interaction with the media, the 'Tamaasha' actress informed that she had celebrated the 'New Year' with her grandfather.

Deepika who is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming flick 'Padmavati' had taken a break from her schedule and preferred to celebrate this new years eve in India as she wanted to spend some good time with her family.

Deepika's mother Ujwala is from Mumbai and her grandfather used to stay in South Mumbai.
