M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is the most awaited biopic for the entire nation. In sync to the people's excitement the makers have decided to release the film across various languages; like Tamil, Telugu and Marathi.
But, now we hear that the Marathi version of the legendary cricketer's biopic had landed itself in a political soup. Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (CKS), the film affairs wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have posed an objection to the Marathi dubbed version of the film, stating that it could be a possible threat to the business of the other regional films releasing on the same weekend.
Chief of CKS, Amey Khopar said, "We have no objection with the film. The problem is the dubbed version of the film. It is a scary situation for regional movie makers as they already have a tough time getting a slot at multiplexes. Bharatmata Cinema a single screen theater in Lalbaug, plays only Marathi films; if they also start showing dubbed films, where will the regional films go?"
Khopar said that he has been receiving many calls of concerned producers, filmmakers and actors from the regional film fraternity regarding the issue. "That is when we decided to write to the producers of Dhoni, asking them not to dub the film in Marathi; as it would eat into the business of local films. We are awaiting their response, if we don't get the same by today we will think about our next course of action," Amey Khopar concluded.
M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is slated to release in September this year, had release the Marathi trailer last week.Copyright india-forums.com/bollywood
