Controversies and Udta Punjab have started to go hand in hand now. With the rumour of the movie being banned by the Censor Board initially, there has been a huge uproar throughout.
In recent news, the FCAT has ordered for 89 cuts on the film. It has also asked to remove any reference of Punjab in it be it about the state, its politics or the upcoming elections. It's also speculated that the board has asked the film makers to set the film in a fictional area instead of Punjab itself.
Not only this, but it has also rumoured that the film could even be banned in Punjab as the ruling BJP-Akali Dal do not want the state to be perceived in a bad light of any sorts.
With so many changes and the trouble revolving around the film, fans and others have always supported it and wish that the Censor Board passes the film to be released without much revising of it.
With the film set to release on 13th June with Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, we can only wait and watch what happens next and hope for the best.
