Veteran actor and a social activist Nana Patekar, is on a
campaign to support the needy farmers in Maharashtra. The actor is striving
hard to reduce the rising suicide cases in the state and thus, he has
admonished the media to shift focus to important issues.
In an interview with a leading news channel, the actor questioned the media why Pratyusha Bannerjee's suicide case has been highlighted more rather than the rising farmer's suicide in the state.
He said that, "The girl (Pratyusha) dying was most unfortunate. But it is being highlighted day after day in the media. What about farmers who kill themselves? Are their lives not worth anything?" [sic]
The actor is highly active in social activities. He had set up an NGO named Naam foundation last year along with actor Makrand Anaspure and has made a notable contribution to the ailing farmers in Maharashtra.
Well, it's really appreciable to see Nana step ahead for such a social cause and give his best to improve the farmers condition.
