This comment didn’t go down well with the members of the Indian Christian Voice, an organisation representing the larger interests of the Christian community, including Roman Catholics, in India.
While Hrithik was already battling his legal tussle with actress Kangana Ranaut, he was slapped with another notice and this time it being a criminal notice from the Christian group.
Abraham Mathai, Catholic group's All India president, had sent
the legal notice to Hrithik asking him to give a written apology for "hurting
religious sentiments".
Clearing his stance, the actor has now apologized saying it was unintentional.
"Seems my tweet about His Holiness has led to misunderstanding. My apologies for hurt caused to -religious or other sentiments. Was unintentional," Hrithik posted on his twitter.
