The Supreme Court's verdict on legalizing homosexuality would prove to be a ray of hope for gay rights activists. The curative petition filed before a five judge - bench has sparked controversy revolving around the article 377 of the Indian Penal Code, that legalizes gay sex in India.
Well, our B-town actresses have now come ahead to support the social cause.
According to a report in a leading daily, actress Raveena Tandon who recently got her daughter married is quoted saying that, "This (homosexuality) has been accepted even in our Hindu scriptures. I stand by my gay friends." [sic].
On the other hand, Celina Jaitly who also works as a gay rights activist put forth her argument, "Today's decision is a great step. However, I think a disparity that can easily be addressed by amending the Indian Penal Code shouldn't have to be a 15-year-long struggle!" [sic].
However, the final call would be that of the Supremem Court which would decide the fate of the homosexuals in our nation!
