Varun Dhawan to play Johny?

After success of ABCD 2, filmaker, Rajiv Rai wants Varun Dhawan to reprise the role of the legend of Indian cinema 'Dev Anand' in Johny Mera Naam's remake.

The film was supposed to be made in 2006 and David Dhawan was asked to direct the film. The film was believed to be made by Suniel Shetty and Shabbir. Abhishek Bachchan was being said to play Dev's role. However these attempts were in vain. There were no development to this and at the end the project was shelved.

After almost a decade Rajiv Rai decided to remake the film with Shabbir.

This will be the comeback of Rajiv Rai in direction! Shabbir has made plans to approach Varun for the role of the undercover CID named Johny in the film.

Well, it seems any Dhawan's was destined get involved in this film.
