We are into the 5th month of the year and so is the vacation time. This month has a good number of releases and most of them have been highly anticipated about. Here is a run through of the movies to look forward to in the month of May this year.
Starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in the main lead,
Gabbar Is Back, was the 1st film to release this month. Dealing with
the issue of corruption, the movie had made quite an impact on the audience. The
posters and trailer were quite impactful, but the movie has seemed to impress
some whereas some haven't appreciated it. The movie has managed to gather 45cr.
as of now.
Kuch Kuch Locha Hai sees Ram Kapoor and Sunny Leone in the
main leads. Releasing on the 8th of May, the story is about a 40
something man who has a fetish for a Bollywood diva Shanaya. The trailer seems
like the movie is fun-filled one and a laughter riot. We are used to watching
Ram Kapoor in sophisticated roles, but this one presents him a completely different
avatar with a much more comical aspect to it. It would also be Sunny Leone's 1st
comedy film.
One of the most highly anticipated movies, Piku also
releases on 8th May. The movie is based on a Father-Daughter
relationship. Well what more can one say when you have a plethora of phenomal
actors like, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan; lead by an ace
director like Shoojit Sircar.
Releasing on 15th May, Bombay Velvet is directed
by Anurag Kashyap. The movie is set in the 60s era, and Anurag seems to have
left no stone unturned to recreate the bygone era. It also marks Karan Johar's
debut in Bollywood. Even though he is seen a small role in DDLJ, this one is 1st
major role that too in a negative character. Bombay Velvet also stars Anushka
Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in the leads.
Welcome To Karachi
This fun filled film is set to release on 21st
May. Arshad Warsi, Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottileb will be seen playing
pivotal characters in the film. The movie is about two friends who end up in
Pakistan in an effort to reach the US. The trailer itself is a laughter riot so
one could expect an out and out comedy, family entertainer.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns
This one is the sequel to Tanu Weds Manu. It has retained
its original cast of R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut. The film's trailer seems
to be equally entertaining as the earlier version. Lets hope this one lives up
to our expectations.
Do comment and let us know which ones you are looking forward to.
