New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) Four people were selected from Delhi in an audition for a radio contest 'Sing with Sonu'.
They were selected at the audition of BIG 92.7 FM Saturday. The contest winners will share stage with singer Sonu Nigam.
The winners of the Delhi league - Sulabh, Aamir Khan, Bhaskar and Amit - were judged by TV anchor Pooja Bedi, singers Shibani Kashyap and Akruti Kakkar, music producer Zeus and music composer Gaurav Dayal.
'After television, radio too is growing as a medium. Such a platform would surely help the talents at the local level, if not the national one,' Pooja told reporters at the event.
The radio station is hosting auditions at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi and Bangalore in which four finalists will be selected from each city.
The finalists would appeal to the people from April 7 to 13.
The contestant with the highest number of votes would join winners from the other four cities for training and grooming session in Mumbai under singer Sonu Nigam.
Anand Chakravarthy, vice president, marketing, BIG 92.7 FM, said in a press statement: 'For the first time in the history of radio entertainment, a radio station has provided a platform to seek the best singers from across the country through a reality show.'
As part of the grand finale, five singers would join Sonu on stage in a five-city concert slated to be held from April 16 to 20.
