In the times when music has gone digital and technology plays an important role, composer Amit Trivedi has resorted to an older technique and used the orchestra to create the background score for "Lootera".

The Ranveer Singh-Sonakshi Sinha starrer is a period film set in the 1950s.

Trivedi, who has given hit music in movies like "Dev D", "English Vinglish" and "Bombay Talkies (2013)", collaborated with a Chennai-based band called Chennai Strings for the same.

"We are thrilled to work with Chennai String Orchestra for the music in our movie. It is really a proud feeling to work with such a renowned orchestra," a spokesperson for the film said in a statement.

Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the movie is a co-production of Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films and is slated to release July 5.
