Fashion designer Nitish ChandraFashion designer Nitish Chandra showcased his collection 'Khadiology' and says his aim is to popularise khadi among the youth.

"People feel that only old people, bureaucrats or politicians wear khadi. But I want to popularise it among the youth," Nitish said.

"My last collection had 42 pieces, which were internationally acclaimed and sold. This collection has almost 43 pieces," he added.

Nitish also revealed that he plans to impart free education to the children of the poor weavers from whom he buys khadi.

"I take khadi from small weavers in Bihar's Gaya and Madhubani districts, they are very poor. They get only Rs.5 for their product but it is then sold for almost Rs.50, a big difference," Nitish said.

"When I start retailing their products, I will provide free education to the children of these weavers with that money," he added.
