Mumbai, May 9 (IANS) Designer Anita Dongre, who loves experimenting with cotton, recommends cotton clothing for this wedding season. She showcased her designs at a fashion show here, but didn't have a showstopper.
"I never use a showstopper. I just let the clothes be the show stopper," Anita, who presented her collection at an event called Cottonscape Tuesday, told IANS.
Her collection included gowns, jackets, skirts, pants and salwar suits in summer colours like cream and pista-green.
"The show's all about cotton. Part of the collection is in my store and part of it will come during monsoon. The show tells you how to wear cotton clothes for wedding. I love working with cotton and enjoy styling the fabric," she said.
From the film fraternity Urmila Matondkar and Sangeeta Bijlani attended her show.
Besides Dongre, designer Rina Dhaka too participated in it.
Rina showcased her Indian Pret wear dominated by block print and hand dyed-fabrics. Actress Jiah Khan was her showstopper and she walked the ramp om cream gown with thread work.
Well-known apparel brand Provogue presented their spring summer collection, which consisted of casual wear for the season. Geeta Basra and Rakesh Bapat walked the ramp for the brand.
