Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre left everyone in shock in July last year by announcing that she has been diagnosed with high-grade cancer. She immediately left for her treatment to USA and after months of battling the deadly disease, she returned to India. Not to forget, her fight and her optimism has been an inspiration for many. Now in a recent interaction during Day 2 of India Today Conclave 2019, Sonali talked about her journey, her choice of #SwitchingOnTheSunshine and revealed how her family and close ones dealt with her health.
Revealing how she used to blame herself for the cancer, Sonali said that she felt it was her doing something wrong. "Everyone said, 'Your lifestyle was never like that. How did it happen to you?' I actually went to a psychiatrist in New York because I was like, 'I don't understand what is happening to me. I'm not a negative person, I have a lot of positive thoughts. Am I being delusional and sweeping under the carpet?' I needed to understand what was happening to me," she added.

Further claiming that she had the most amazing support system, Sonali maintained, "Goldie and my sister Rupa have been my support. Where Ranveer (her son) was concerned, he was on a school trip. I could've sent him home, but I said I need to see him. That's the way Goldie and I've brought him up. It was about telling him something very honestly. If he didn't tell him, he would probably misconstrue it."
She concluded by saying that fear no longer has any place in her life. "The best part is I am alive and I am here, and I cannot thank the Universe enough," she pointed out.
Well, we cannot be more happy to see Sonali hail and hearty.
