Neerja Movie Review

Be Brave! Remember that bravery is not the lack of fear but the ability to move forward in spite of the fear. And 'Neerja' portrays exactly the same.

A glimpse of the story:

'Neerja' is based on the real life story of late flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving the lives of passengers who were on board. The story revolves around the hijacking of 1986 PAM AM Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan. The way Neerja overcomes her fears and fights back the terrorists and saves the lives of 359 passengers' forms the crux of the story.

Why you should watch this film:

Solely, for the strong story that it unfolds. The courageous stunt pulled up by brave heart Neerja Bhanot is something that we all must see and learn.

After annoying the audience with her substandard acting, Sonam Kapoor has finally come up with some brilliant execution. This has been one of her best performances so far. No doubt there are times when she has failed to convince the audiences but over all she has managed to prove that if given a chance she too can improvise and give out some excellent works.

Shabana Azmi is seen playing Neerja's mother and like always she has yet again given a flawless performance. Her enthralling speech in the end will touch the chords of your heart. For every time she appears on the screen she grabs your attention completely.

It could have been a much better film if...

Owing to cinema liberty, the screenplay could have been much better. There are times when one gets bored due to unnecessarily stretched scenes. The editing could have been crisp which would have avoided the audience from getting bored and losing their interest.

Overall:

This weekend, spare some time and visit your nearby theatres and witness the tale of bravery. And we are sure you will take back home heroic lessons of courage and macho.

Don't forget to take your kids along because they are the future of our Nation. They need to witness this story to become fearless citizens; who, if need be will stand strong against the evils and emerge out victorious!
