Rightly said by Farhan, Wazir is an emotional drama. However the flavor of action, thriller, suspense and humor is not compromised. Bejoy Nambiar's directorial has intense story that shows how life can takes U-turn with in minutes.
The film starts with Farhan Akhtar as Daanish Ali leading a perfect happy life with his wife Ruhaana (played by Aditi Rao Hydari) and daughter Noori. Because of his own recklessness, while chasing a terrorist Daanish looses his daughter. Soon he meets Noori's chess teacher, Omkar Nath Dhar aka Pandit ji (Amitabh Bachchan), who has lost his wife and legs in a car accident and develops a strangebond. Two years back, Pandit ji has also lost his daughter who fell from stairs at a Minister Izaad Qureshi's (Manav Kaul) house, but Pandit believes that it was a murder.
While the first half is intriguing and full of emotions and suspense, second half takes all of these a notch higher.
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar whose acting skills cannot be questioned, Aditi Rao Hydari, John Abhraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh played an important role. Aditi as Ruhaana in the film is perfect with her expressions did not need words. Manav Kaul as Izaad Qureshi is commendable.
The background score is just amazing. However, unlike other Bollywood films Wazir doesn't have any song that interrupts the flow of the film.
The movie did have few loop holes (which I will not mention here as that will spoil the suspense) but that can be ignored if everything else is perfect.
All-in-all, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Wazir is a must watch for this weekend.
