Couple of the Month: Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur

Bollywood couples in one way or the other define fairytales, even if they are mild. But when it comes to being a power couple on top of it, there needs to be that extra fairy dust which sets them apart from the rest. And who could be more apt for this description than the talented Vidya Balan and her suave husband Siddharth Roy Kapur? To honor their love story which has gone from strength to strength, BollyCurry takes you on their journey of coming together.

Individually Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur have been an integral part of the film industry for quite some time now. Balan is one of the finest actresses of the Indian film industry, who changed the outlook and need of a female actor in movies. She became the 'hero' and defined the role of female actors from glam dolls to glorified epitomes. Balan never shied away from challenging roles, or over-enthusiastic critics. And where Vidya Balan was scoring hits and filling the pockets of her producers, Siddharth Roy Kapur wasn't far behind in that list. Being associated with UTV motion pictures for long and going on to become the CEO of the same, Kapur has been around for a while, but the stars of these two love birds took time to meet.

It wasn't until 2010 when Balan and Kapur met in a neutral setting, away from the sets and budgets. Director-producer Karan Johar was a mediator for their arranged meeting and fortunately for both, it was love at first sight. Balan confesses that she saw an ideal husband in Kapur since that first time. Though the couple kept denying the relationship for a long time, in a 2012 interview, Balan confessed to be dating Kapur. On 14 December 2012, in a private ceremony, the couple tied the knot in Bandra, Mumbai. Balan enjoyed all her pre-wedding ceremonies, but in a simple fashion and welcomed the media in her happiness.

Like most couples, there were the usual controversies that tail Bollywood glitterati. From Kapur being a two time divorcee to Balan's past affairs being shown in a bitter light, the two were surrounded by poking and peeking in their personal life from all sides. Balan was also apparently blamed for Kapur's second broken marriage. And when they have taken the sacrament of marriage to heart, media speculations about the relationship gone bitter is something these two have been dealing since the moment they said 'I do'. But despite all the negative endeavors by the hate club, the couple is going strong. In these three years of marriage we've always seen them looking blissfully happy and together.

A relationship is never without its relative hardships and coupled happiness. Vidya Balan married her supposed SRK, as she always dreamed and says she couldn't be happier! Siddharth Roy Kapur feels blessed to have Balan as his better half . This power couple of Bollywood isn't just charming, but they do portray 'completing and complementing each other' to the fullest.
