BollyCurry is back yet again with Couple of the Week!
In our last venture, we got the low-down about an old but gold couple of B-town, this time it's the modern and beautiful
jodi of Hrithik and Suzanne Roshan!
Hrithik Roshan, son of actor/producer/director
Rakesh Roshan, grew up in a very acting oriented environment. Due to
this, he was already motivated to follow his father's footsteps.
Suzanne, Hrithik's wife, is the daughter of the film/director Sanjay
Khan and Zarine Khan. She grew up knowing Hrithik as a fellow kid in
their celebrity neighborhood.
After attending school in Mumbai, Suzanne went to
the US to study interior designing for two years and earned an Art
degree. Hrithik, who is fondly known as Duggu, attended Sydneham College
and obtained his bachelors degree in B Comm.
After returning back to India, Suzanne became
further acquainted with Hrithik and the two ended up close friends. The
friendship soon changed into love, and she stood by him during all his
ups and downs like a true mate. The two tied the knot on December 20,
2000. March 28, 2006 brought a new joy in the happily married couple's
lives, the birth of their first child, Hrehaan. Then again in May of
2008, Suzanne gave birth to the couple's second child, Hridhaan.
Suzanne has her own furniture store called Suzanne
Roshan's House of Design. The store consists of her own custom made
furniture.
Wanting to be a part of the film industry, Hrithik
started off by helping his father out. In order to learn more about
cinematography, he helped his father during the production of
Koyla and
Karan Arjun. He even helped Rakesh Roshan with the scripting of
Kaho Na Pyaar Hai,
unknown to the fact that he was to play the main lead opposite Amisha
Patel. The film turned out to be a super hit and the world saw a new
hero emerge in 2000.
Fame didn't come easy to the young lad; he struggled
to gain the title he has now, as one of B-town's most popular actors.
Even though he saw many flops, luck didn't leave his side. He acted in
many successful films such as
Mission Kashmir and
Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham. He also acted in films such as
Fiza and
Yaadein
that didn't do so well at the BO but garnered him a lot of praise for
his performances. After that, the list of his successful films is
endless.
Dhoom and
Koi Mill Gaya being some of the bigger projects he participated in, along with
Jodhaa Akhbar and the more recent,
Guzaarish.
Winner of 11 Filmfare awards, he is bound to receive
more with his powerful performances. Watch out for Roshan in his
upcoming film,
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, opposite Katrina Kaif, which is believed to be released in May, 2011.
BollyCurry wishes the couple all the more success and hope they live happily forever!
