John turns producer!

Actor John Abraham will be turning first time producer with Shirish Kunder's Alien Sahib. He will not only be acting in the film but also co-producing it.

Alien Sahib is supposed to be a 3D film, which will also be catered in the 2D theatres. Reportedly, John will need to shed as much as 8 kilos in order to fit into his role.

Shirish and John had been in talks for over a year for this venture but John had prior commitments. However, last month, Shirish and John successfully worked out the dates.

The source adds that Shirish was initially in talks with Salman for the role but things didn't work out. Farah and Kunder have been regulars at all Sallu's events in the past year and Shirish really wooed him for his film. But when Khan didn't sign on the dotted line, John Abraham stepped in. John and Farah bonded over their common Parsi background during the making of Dostana's Desi Girl!
