New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) Well-known designer Ritu Kumar's younger son Amrish forays into music with his album called 'Mummy Daddy Records'. It reflects the Indian youth, he says.

'I have been working on this album for more than two years. I have also written a song for the album called 'Zindagi',' Amrish told IANS.

Amrish said his album cannot be classified into any particular genre and that it targets the youth. 'It is like the reflection of young India, it is not niche and cannot be put into any particular genre,' Amrish Kumarhe said.

The album, released Wednesday, includes songs by budding artists like Papon from a rock band East India Company and also from bands like Rasiya and Jalebi Cartel. Other bands Midival Punditz and Parikrama have contributed too.

Amrish, 30, has been inclined towards music since he was four years old and plays the guitar, though he has not had any formal training.

Kumar's elder son Ashwin is into filmmaking and his 'Little Terrorist' was nominated for an Oscar in 2005. After that Ashwin made 'The Forest', which had a conservation message.

Before venturing into music, Amrish had designed clothes like his mother and showcased his debut collection under his mother's fashion label Ritu Kumar at the autumn-winter edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) held in New Delhi this year.

But now, with his foray into the music industry, is he straying away from fashion design?

'Fashion designing will always be a priority,' Amrish said and added that he has no plan to launch his separate fashion label anytime soon.
