Sonakshi ready to debut with Salman!

Another celeb daughter is set to make her debut in Bollywood. She is none other than Sonakshi Sinha, the daughter of yesteryear actor turned politician, Shatrughan Sinha.


Salman Khan" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="5" />In her debut film, the lucky girl will be seen opposite none other than Salman Khan. The cool dude has definitely earned the reputation of discovering actresses almost half his age, perfect examples being Sneha Ullal and Katrina Kaif.


Sonakshi had never not shown interest in acting like her twin brothers Luv and Kush. Sonakshi on the other hand has studied fashion designing. Infact, Sonakshi had initially refused to do the Salman starrer movie as she wanted to pursue her career in fashion designing.


But as destiny would have it Salman was impressed when he saw Sonakshi walk the ramp like a professional model at the last year's Lakme India Fashion Week. A determined Salman went up to her and asked her to star opposite him in Arbaaz's film. Sonakshi, who wasn't sure about a career in films, did not immediately take up the offer. As Salman saw a lot of potential in her so he convinced her to lose 10 kgs. Sonakshi then hit the gym coupled with a well balanced diet and playing water sports. She succeeded in losing 30 kgs!


Once Salman saw how stunning Sonakshi looked in her new slim avatar, he refused to give up. He kept pursuing Sonakshi and her parents, Shatrughan and Poonam (who, incidentally, are very fond of Salman) until they finally relented.


Sonakshi now even told reporters that Salman is like family and she would grab offer opposite him. So for her, its dream coming true.


The film has another first with Arbaaz Khan venturing into production with his newly launched Arbaaz Khan Productions. The movie will be directed by Abhinav Kashyap who is brother of Anurag Kashyap and will go on the floors in the next few months. Although Salman is 44 and Sonakshi is 21, the film justifies the age difference between the lead pair. According to reports, the movie required a beautiful girl with a strong personality. The makers, however, were skeptical about the leading lady; whether it should be an established actress or a fresh face. Finally, Sonakshi was approached as her pairing with Salman looked great. The girl has said 'yes' to the project, which will also have Arbaaz Khan in a major role.


The script is written by Abhinav and was liked by Salim Khan, father of Salman and Arbaaz and the iconic script writer of blockbusters like 'Deewar'. The movie will go on the floors by September.


Shatrughan Sinha said, "Acting was never on the cards for Sonakshi. But I remember as a child she was very cute and I had promised to her that I will allow her to model for an ad. This is perhaps a fulfillment of that promise. As long as she doesnt compromise on the dignity of our family. I've no objections to her doing films."


Sonakshi has designed costumes for her mother Poonam Sinha's first production film 'Mera Dil Leke Dekho' which starred Koel Purie in the year 2005.
