Bollywood is known to be a trendsetter when it comes to friendship fervour. It has always showcased memorable friendships that gave us some major friendship goals and left ever lasting effect on our minds. These characters show such love and care for each other, one would only wish such friendships extend to real life. BollyCurry takes you on a journey of on-screen friendships that inspired us to be better friends and in the long run, better individuals.

Jai - Veeru in Sholay

Who can forget the fantastic duo riding a scooter and singing the song "Yeh Dosti" to celebrate their everlasting friendship? The iconic movie not only created history at box office, but also gave us one of the best jodis that became symbolic for friendship. On one hand, Jai died for Veeru and on the other, Veeru killed all the goons and the villain singlehandedly to avenge Jai's death. Essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, this jodi is considered one of the best in the history of Bollywood.

Rahul - Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Remember the signature step Rahul and Anjali did when they met? Played by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the duo broke all the rules of idealism and touched our hearts with their devoted friendship. Rahul and Anjali taught us that only friends can pull each other's hair and laugh at each other openly. Also, how can we forget the famous dialogue that became cult for today's generation, "Pyaar Dosti Hai." It was this pair that evolved the term friendship by blurring the lines between love and friendship.

Akash - Sameer - Siddharth in Dil Chahta Hai

The trio made us remember that no matter what happens, true friends will always stand by your side. Right or wrong, moral or immoral, only true friends can stand with each other against all odds to overcome difficulties. Dil Chahta Hai created a wave in Indian cinema and it is still remembered for the friendship between the trio of Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna.

Farhan - Rancho - Raju in 3 Idiots

Something that everybody could relate to was the rapport between the three friends. The film revolved around Farhan Qureshi, Ranchordas Chanchad (Phunsukh Wangdu) and Raju Rastogi, played by R. Madhavan, Aamir Khan and Sharman Joshi respectively. Rancho inspired Farhan to become a photographer instead of an engineer because that was his dream, and taught Raju how live with confidence instead of fear. Not as a favour in return, but as friends, Farhan and Raju reunited Rancho with his long lost love, Piya, ten years later. The movie showcased the importance of friends in life and how it could affect one another in a positive way.

Kabir - Imran - Arjun in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This film brought freshness in terms of friendship. Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol made a special place for themselves in everyone's hearts through the characters of Kabir, Imran and Arjun. They made us believe that friends will always be friends; despite endless fights and hardships standing in their way. In the end, they would always have each other's backs. In addition, they reminded us that best friends are those who pick you up when you fall... only after they are done laughing!

Pooja - Tina in Mujhse Dosti Karoge

Remember the special bond between Pooja and Tina? Beautifully portrayed by Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the duo made us believe that no one understands you better than that one true friend, who can do anything just for your happiness. This level of sacrifice is indeed beyond human nature, but who can test love?

While we speak of only a handful, it is evident that Bollywood thrives on creating waves when it comes to celebrating friendship with grandeur. Friends are indeed a family we choose for ourselves and Bollywood just pushes us in the direction of which kind of friends we need in our lives. Did we miss a popular jodi? Let us know which one is your all time favourite group of friends in the comments section below.
