YRF Banner brings to us one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Sultan. Starring the superstar of Bollywood, Salman Khan, in the titular role of Sultan, and Anushka Sharma as his lady love Aarfa, this sports drama promises to deliver a heart touching tale of an underdog and his struggle to prove himself. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars the talented actors Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh in pivotal roles.

The trailer opens with Sultan (Salman Khan) wrestling with his opponent and throwing him on the ground. From then on, each scene carefully weaves the story of the life of the wrestler Sultan Ali Khan. We meet his lady love Aarfa (Anushka Sharma), we watch their banter, and we finally see Sultan rising up as a world class wrestler. Just when one would think that life is hunky dory for this Olympic medalist, the tale takes a darker turn and we see Sultan's life fall apart. How he rises from his fall and wins his glory back forms the crux of the movie.

The trailer gives us a glimpse at the strong dialogues in the movie, credit of which has to be given to writer Ali Abbas Zafar. However, what truly brings the characters to life is the impeccable acting and powerful expressions put forth by the actors. From Sharma's agitation when Aarfa scolds Sultan for his horrid English, to Khan's anger filled eyes as fire rages within him, from Sadh's sincere expression as he promotes Sultan, to Hooda's disdain as he wonders whether Sultan can prove his mettle, not one single expression is over the top or seems under delivered. Even the emotional scenes in the trailer show subtlety.

The top scenes in the trailer are the scenes where Sultan works on his training. Whether it is running faster than the train engine or dragging a tractor with his body or even carrying buckets of bricks on his shoulder, the scenes are quite awe inspiring. However, the USP of the trailer remains Salman Khan himself with his strong persona and the emotions he shows through his eyes in the second half of the trailer.

Artur Zurwaski appears to have done a stellar job with the cinematography; from the simplicity of rural Haryana to the action packed wrestling ring, every scene is realistic and visually appealing. The grandiosity of the movie reflects in the trailer too and the world of wrestling seems intriguing when seen from the director's lens. The trailer itself will generate more interest amongst the audience for the sport of wrestling.

It is obvious from the trailer that the director has studied the world of wrestling thoroughly and every scene and shot has been filmed keeping the audience in the mind. The Haryanvi dialogues and Vishal Shekhar's soundtrack are already quite a hit, and we're sure that it will definitely resonate with the audiences. With such an interesting story and power packed performers, this trailer has definitely heightened the expectations of the viewers.

Sultan is coming to theatres near you on 6th of July. While you wait for the movie release, we encourage you to catch the trailer on YouTube or any other streaming site because this is one trailer you don't want to miss!
