Romantic comedies are more or less the norm these days, but family dramas are still the bread and butter of Bollywood. We at BollyCurry thought to compile a list of actors and actresses we would love to see portraying siblings on the big screen after watching movies like
Dil Dhadakne Do,
Brothers, and
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo!
Everybody knows these two are cousins in real life, but I still wonder why no one has taken advantage of their obvious familial bond and cast them as sisters on screen! It would only be natural for them to play a pair of loving and bubbly sisters, who lean on each other as they fall in and out of love with the world and people around them. Maybe a remake of Sense & Sensibility, even? The options are limitless!
The children of superstars, these two cousins have become superstars in their own rights. They have played all sorts of characters on the big screen, but as of yet, we have not seen them grace the screen together. Imagine the possibilities - a pair of siblings who con people, or a pair of siblings fighting over their inheritance, or anything really!
Yes, I do realise most of the people so far I have mentioned are related in real life, and these two are no different. But with all the stars these days being related due to their superstar heritage, at least one director should take advantage of the natural connections and chemistry between them and cast them as siblings. Arjun and Sonam can definitely play across each other as the flaky model sister with a heart of gold whose biggest support is her businessman brother - or vice versa!
We have seen Arjun tease Deepika at award ceremonies due to his friendship with
Ranveer Singh. There is a natural
devar-bhabhi like relationship budding here, which we think would translate really well on-screen as a loving and teasing sibling relationship. A pair of twins taking a trip to fulfil their father's last wish maybe?
These two are both fabulous actors who we think would play really well opposite one another as brothers. The staid and stressed older brother and the playboy younger brother who has to step up when his brother falls sick. Either actor could play either role, so long as Aditya does not play another drunk character. This author does not think her heart could take that.
But the possibilities are endless! The chemistry between the characters would be great - we know most of them get along off-screen, so why would they not be great on screen as well? But do not just take our words for it. Who do you think would make for a good pair of siblings on-screen?
