As we bid adieu to the year 2013, BollyCurry brings to you the Tinsel Town celebrities who managed to register their presence through their movies, regardless of whether they were a hit or a flop.

First on our list, we have the former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, who is known for the versatility of the characters she's portrayed. The actress does not fear the risk involved in playing a character that is out of league. Her year started with the movie Deewana Main Deewana opposite Govinda; however, it did not garner much recognition amongst the audience. She then appeared in the song "Babli Badmaash" for Shootout At Wadala, which was an immediate hit. After lending her voice for the plane Ishani in the American movie Planes, Priyanka played the witness-cum-cop's girlfriend in Zanjeer, but the movie failed to please the people due to its inability to match up to the level of Amitabh Bachchan'sZanjeer (1973)Next, we saw her in Krrish 3, where Priyanka played the perfect wife to the Indian superhero Krrish, and the movie was a blockbuster. Her last stint for the year was an item song for the movie Goliyon ki Raasleela - Ram Leela, which ended her year on a joyous note.

The khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, starred in the thriller heist movie Special 26 as Ajay Singh, which received mixed reviews but managed to earn an amount close to 73 crores and was declared a semi-hit. The actor saw a downfall when Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobaara failed to meet expectations, coming down as a flop; but Akshay's portrayal of Shoaib Khan was the only highlight of the movie. The invincible Surya in Boss was expected to top the charts, but much like his previous outing Khiladi 786, it turned out to be a huge disappointment, making it a not so good year for the hero.

The Dabanng girl Sonakshi Sinha, since her debut, has been known for the outright rowdiness in her. She started the year with Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobaara as the sweet rising starlet Jasmine Sheikh. The movie could not woo audiences, and neither could Sonakshi. Paakhi Roy Chaudhry in Lootera is considered to be Sonakshi's best performance till date by the critics, despite the movie being a major flop. Her Bengali avatar in Bullet Rajais being appreciated at the moment; while her portrayal of the confident Chanda in the recently released R...Rajkumar drew her a lot of flakSurely, this was a mixed year for the lovely lass!

Imran Khan's title role in Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola as Matru failed to impress viewers, with the movie turning out to be a flop. His next outing was in the romantic-thriller Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara, where he played the character of Aslam; but he couldn't garner much success with his chocolaty looks contradicting the character of a Don's right-hand man. His recent flick Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, where he plays the love struck Sriram Venkat with a strong determination to win his love back also couldn't manage to turn the stars in his favour either. It has definitely been a disappointing year for this star.

If there's one Bollywood celebrity who's being talked about everywhere, it is none other than the vivacious Deepika Padukone. The year started with her action stints in Race 2 as Alina. The movie did fairly well and her character was much appreciated. She was then seen in the blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, where Naina Talwar boggled the minds of the audience with her contradictory personalities in both halves of the movie. The record breaking all time blockbuster Chennai Express was warm-heartedly received by the audience, and so was the character of Meenalochni Azhagusundaram. If that wasn't enough, Deepika added another feather to her cap with her power-packed performance in the larger than life movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Leela's enigmatic beauty left the viewers in awe of her. This was an extremely successful year for Ms. Padukone with back-to-back hits taking her to unparalleled heights of success.

With this, BollyCurry wishes you all a pleasant ending to this year, and a joyous arrival of the New Year. Keep watching this column for more of your favourite Bollywood celebrities.
