Box Office Review: Aatma and Rangrezz

Past weekend, Box Office seemed to have trouble attracting movie-goers, with 22nd March seeing the two major of it's four releases failing miserably. Both Aatma (2013)

and Rangrezz were promoted majorly and were much talked-about, yet, they opened to a weak response which saw no improvement.

Aatma (2013) stars Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles and got mixed reviews from the critics. The box office collection was Rs 1.52 crores on Friday. It marginally went up to Rs 1.73 crores on Saturday and Rs 1.89 crores on Sunday, bringing the total collection of it's first weekend to merely Rs 5.14 crores.

Rangrezz starring Jackky Bhagnani was worse with a total collection of only Rs 3.75 crores in it's opening weekend. It barely managed Rs 1.03 crore on Friday, Rs 1.17 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.55 crore on Sunday.

The other two releases for the week, Sona Spa and Zindagi 50:50 also fared poorly.

With Sajid Khan's Himmatwala(2013) starring Ajay Devgn and Tamannah releasing on 29th March, we hope that Bollywood will manage some decent business on the last weekend before the next financial month opens.
