Jodhpur, Oct 27 (IANS) Rock star Mick Jagger, visiting Rajasthan for the second time this year, has been feasting himself on some folk music here this week.

'Sir Mick flew in with his companion on Oct 25 and is staying as a guest of Jodhpur Maharaja Gaj Singh,' a source close to the erstwhile royal family told IANS here Saturday.Mick Jagger

Jagger has been attending some of the performances at the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF), the five-day extravaganza that started Thursday.

'He has been mixing with the revellers at performances of the 'Living Masters' series, in which young musicians perform along with their musical gurus all throughout the stunning Mehrangarh Fort,' the source added.

He seems to be enjoying the festival, the source said.

Jagger, 64, best known as the lead singer of Rolling Stones, is apparently smitten by the charms of Rajasthan - he visited Udaipur, another major tourist attraction in the state, in January this year.

He was so impressed by the scenic beauty of the city of lakes that he had expressed interest in buying a piece of land there.

The RIFF here is playing host to a variety of singers, dancers, instrumentalists, storytellers and artisans from Rajasthan, Britain, eastern Europe and central Asia, who are mesmerising the visitors with their creative performances.

Interactive educational events, staged performances and late-night jam sessions are brining audiences face to face with the artists in a setting of unmatched beauty of the Mehrangarh Fort.
