Mumbai: Infinity Film Completion Services, India's premiere film bonding company, has bought a 25 percent stake in Lumiere of Brazil. Lumiere is Brazil's biggest film distribution company. By this association, Infinity FCS becomes a 25 per cent partner in Lumiere's distribution business. Infinity FCS will also be distributing all of Lumiere's films in India.
Lumiere will also get into production and co-production of Brazilian films in partnership with Infinity, utilising tax credits from the Brazilian
government earned from the distribution business. Lumiere will be distributing Palme d'Or winner '4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days' in January 2008.
Says Aanand Mahendroo, Managing Director, Infinity FCS: " Infinity is on a
roll. It is a pleasure to join hands with Lumiere. We will both be drawing from each other's strengths."
Marc Beauchamps, Lumiere's founder and CEO expressed happiness at the association and told Variety magazine: "Lumiere will help streamline the
Brazilian market, as we will use not only local incentives, but also private financial mechanisms common in Europe and the United States."
