Director Anand L. Rai's upcoming film 'Madaari' is all set to hit the theatres on 15th July. The film seems to be sending a strong thought provoking message in order to bring about a positive change in the society. Actor Jimmy Shergil who essays the character of a cop, highlights the special aspects of the film. Check it out...

How different is this role from the other cop roles you've played in other films?

This is basically a CBI guy, and he has a lot of experience. It is a matured character which you can understand from his looks. He has been put to work to find a particular guy at any cost. So, that's basically my character in the film.

How was your experience working with Irrfan Khan?

It's always a pleasure working with Irrfan. We share a very good rapport. We have worked together in so many films. We have made a very serious film with a good intention and all have worked hard. So we hope that everybody likes it. Somewhere, everyone has an outburst which doesn't come out, but watching this movie would definitely remove your frustration. You will feel relieved when you leave the theatre.

Recently, Irrfan had made some remarks on 'EID'. What are your views on that?

Well, I actually don't know about the comment. So I will speak to him and let you know.

Nowadays, many actors promote their film on TV shows. Do you think that Television is a good platform for promoting films?

Today, how much ever you promote a film, it still seems less. Surely, it is a great platform and not just TV but digital has also become a huge platform. When I started doing films, digital weren't even there so, TV, digital and even radio has become a good source for promoting films. There many movie which aren't of a big budget and neither it has a star attraction. Such movies needs to be promoted. Every TV serial and comedy shows has a vast audience which are loyal and view it daily. So when you go for promotions at such shows you reach to a target audience which might not have even seen the promo of your film. So suddenly, they get to see you promo and if your film is good it gets their attention. So, that's how you target the audience there.

What is the idea behind the tagline of the film, "Desh So Raha Hai"?

It's an uproar that, we do want a change but we aren't doing enough for it. We all have a certain frustration towards our system. Our thought needs to be changed, unless our thoughts don't change our paths won't change and the system on it too won't change . So whatever expectations you have from the system, you still break the law yourself and also witness people breaking rules them but aren't doing anything for it.

You have also been a part of Punjabi films apart from Bollywood. So what difference did you find between the two?

In Punjabi films all the technicians are from Bollywood itself. Be it video editors or the cameramen, they are all brought from Bollywood. So the only difference you end up feeling at that point is the language.

Do you have any upcoming projects apart from Madari?

Well, Madari will now be released on 15th July, 2016. 'Happy Bhaag Jaaegi' will release the next month. Anand L. Rai has produced the film and Mudassar has directed it. It has Abhay Deol, Diana Penty and many such actors. It's a light hearted comedy film with an interesting story. I really enjoyed working for it as I've done a comedy film after a long time.

Will the film be success at the box office? Well, that's something our audience will decide. All we can do is wait and watch!
