The man has been funny, dark, aggressive, silly, serious and freaky on screen. He has entertained the audience with variety of roles and has made a place for himself in Bollywood, where not everyone can survive (especially without a godfather in the industry). And what can one say about the deadly combination of Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, they are amazing together. Tell us something about the movie 'Emotional Attyachar' and your character in it.

Well, Emotional Atyachar is director Akshay Sheri's first film. It has three stories that come to an end. It's more like a pulp-fiction. And one of the stories has me and Vinay Ptahak as Goan cops. Our role has grey shades and the movie has dark humour.


You have always done roles of different shades so how is this role different from the ones you have played earlier?

My character in this movie has a grey shade, and is un-intentionally funny. It is different from the roles that I have played in movies earlier.


Are you a 'director's-actor' or you believe in improvisation?

I am totally a 'directors-actor'. I am there to please the director. However both these things go hand in hand, you can always be a director's actor and still improvise.


What kind of a get-up do you have in this movie?

I make a very conscious effort to look different in all my films. I make sure that even my roles are different from each other in all my films. So even in this movie I am playing a cop.


This is the first time that your working with Kalki, how was your experience?

It was a very nice experience to work with Kalki for the first time; she has a lot of potential.


Share with us your experience with the director.

This is Akshay Shere's first film as a director, but it did not seem so. He came across as a quite veteran on the set. He was very clear about the concept and very focused too.


What is it with you and the idea of working with debutant directors?

I think working with debutant directors is great as they come up with great scripts and are very passionate about their job. They do have a story to tell.


Have you ever faced any kind of emotional atyachar in your real life?

Oh! everyone faces emotional atyachar in their lives; I have had my share of emotional atyachars.


Any one role that you eagerly want to play, basically your dream role?

There is no one role that I would want to play, in fact there are too many of them. And there are several different films that I would love to work in. You don't always get what you want.


Do you think your potential as an actor has been totally discovered by the directors up till now?

I have hardly done any work; I am still a struggling actor. There is a lot that is left for me to do. My complete potential is yet to be discovered.


Do you feel the jitters before your movies releases?

Yes, there is a lot of anxiety as to howthe audience will take the film and my character. So, I do feel the jitters, before my films release.


What kind of film genre do you think you're best at?

I don't judge movies based on genres, script is what matters and that is what I prefer to look at.


You have proved to be an amazing actor when it came to serious roles, so any movies coming on those lines?

Yes, Emotional Atyachar is a movie where I play a serious role, just that the humor in it is un-intentional.


What kind of comedy do you like? Slap-stick, dark humour, situational what?

See it's not that I just love comedy; it's just that I am offered such roles and do the job honestly. But yes I prefer dark humour, I like it and my inclination is towards it.


How choosy are you with the kind of films and roles you do?

I am fairly choosy with the kind of films that I do and the roles that I play. But also the fact is that I don't have too much work.


Aren't you interested in participating in reality shows like khatron ke khiladi or big boss? Would you accept if they were offered to you?

See doing a reality show depends on how broke I am. These days reality shows need a reality check, they have gone far beyond reality.


You are quite active on twitter and so is half of the industry…what do u think about this latest celebrity addiction?

Yes everyone around is active on twitter today, it is quite an addiction since even I am on it.


Will you do a hard core romantic movie –considering the kind of work you have done until now…

Yes, of course why not, as I said earlier I am ready to take up a romantic film if I am offered one, since I don't decide on films based on its genre, I see how good the script is.
